    Bell offers condolences to family of S. Korean sergeant (Stars and Stripes)

    The top U.S. military commander in South Korea on Wednesday expressed condolences to the family of Yoon Jang-ho, a South Korean army sergeant who Tuesday became the first in his country to die in the war in Afghanistan .

    Man Pleads Guilty to Hate Crime in Anti-Semitic Incident (1010 WINS New York)

    A 21-year-old man pleaded guilty Wednesday to scrawling anti-Semitic slurs on cars parked near a synagogue. James Connolly admitted he wrote slurs and drew swastikas with black markers on several cars and other surfaces near the Electchester Jewish Center in the Fresh Meadows section of Queens, District Attorney Richard Brown's office said in a news release.

    Democrats push Bush for more money for Afghanistan (AFP via Yahoo! News)

    US Democrats, the majority in Congress, on Wednesday asked President George W. Bush to budget more money for Afghanistan, where they say more effort is needed to fight terrorism than in Iraq.

    117 Fort Drum soldiers killed in war since ‘03 (News 10 Now Syracuse)

    The name of one of the three soldiers killed in Iraq yesterday is now known. Relatives of Specialist Lorne Henry Jr., of Niagara Falls, say he was killed when the truck he was driving was hit by an explosive. These latest 10th Mountain Division deaths bring the total since 2003 to well over 100. As News 10 Now's, Amy Ohler reports, people are questioning if it's worth it.
